Help me with one more anime cartoon name

Hello Everyone,

I have one more request.

There was a cartoon where early humans lived with Dinosaurs who were always attacking them. And once the little hero and his mother are separated when there is a big earthquake and the ground opens up between them leaving the mother and son on opposite sides of the deep chasm.

Do you know which one this is? It aired during 1989 / 1990 on French TV (La Cinq I think).
